Ok, i made a thread about my pc getting low fps in rust but i got no good explanation so i will try one more time with more detailed information, i just cant let it go..

I have a 2080 RTX OC with a

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
32 gb of RAM
750W PSU
ASUS ROG Strix B450-F GAMING, Socket-AM4 motherboard.
Screen :
Asus 27" MG278Q
2560x1440, 144hz, 1ms, FreeSync, 2xHDMI/DP,

My friends have 1070/1080 cards with Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor and they get 100+ fps, while im stuck at 75. With the same settings and resulotion.

The fps wont change if i change the settings.
My GPU usage is only at 25%-38% and CPU around 35% and its killing me, i bought the computer just for better fps in Rust because its the game i play the most. I had the same fps with my older laptop with 4k screen with a 1070 card..

The GPU usaged would go up to around 66% with all setttings on high.. but then my fps goes down lower, 60-65 fps

Tried all types of resulotions.
Gsync is off
Vsync is off
Powermode is set high

Ive done everything people have told me and i cant get more fps, i know rust isnt optmized but cm on.. 75 fps?

And in Battlefield V

GPU% is 66%
CPU% around 70-75%

And im at 80-90 fps

Should i go for 2080TI ? And go back to Intel i7 or i9 ?

Solution
As gaming demands increase your system will start to do better due to superior multicore performance and especially playing higher res 1440p resoltions via the RTX 2080. Right now he's winning up front because the i9 9700k has superior single core performance that give's you higher up front FPS. I guarantee your system will have a smoother gaming experience with better 1% lows in fps.

Normally the power plan adjustment takes that issue away.

The next thing puzzling is the Kingston ssd being picked on.

What mobo bios are you running?

Sorry for late posting but i have been rly busy

And then there is a bunch of Disabled hotplugs bui i Guess they are empty

Also please Make Sure you are using the latest version of Ryzen Master:
https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master

And have Installed the latest AMD Chipset Drivers

I have that same MB, but now I have a 3700x on it.
When I had a 2600 (OC'd to 4 GHz) my EDC would regularly hit 100% when I was running benchmarks.
As long as it doesn't stay at 100 % all the time you are fine.

I have my Performance Enhancer set at level 3 OC now too and my EDC (145A) goes up to around 30 to 35% when running a Game but drops down to 3 to 5% while web browsing.

I just Ran UserBenchmark and my EDC topped out around 70%.
And when I ran Cinebench R20 Multicore it maxed out at 75%.
But I have a 3700x now and I'm sure that's why it is lower than yours.

But at idle it should still drop to 3 to 5 % or so for your CPU like it does for me.

As asked by Crosslhs82x2, knowing what BIOS you are using will help us help you.

I just mase it easy, so i dont miss anything.

The BIOS settings look fine, nothing jumps out at me.

Something is definitely Not right though.
Can you post a screenshot from Ryzen Master.

Did you do a Clean Installation of Windows when you built this rig ?

What does Task manager show as your CPU usage when you are just Idling in Windows ?
With MS Edge open mine shows 1 to 2 % usage.

Task manager shows 2% usage which is fine.
But Ryzen Master shows one Core running at 4.25 GHz.
I can't read the voltage but it looks like its 1.525Volts, is that what it says ?

I want to know why that one core is at it's max boost when your PC is idling ?
I think you may have some left overs from when you used the TPU I OC settings.
I'd clear the CMOS just to be 100% sure you are starting out with fresh BIOS settings.
Like this:

  • Unplug the PC (PSU).
  • Then press the Power Button for at least 30 seconds.
  • Use a flat headed screwdriver to short the CLR CMOS (CLRTC) Jumper (Touch both jumper pins with the screwdriver) for at least 15 seconds.
  • Plug the PC back in.
  • Press the Power Button to turn the PC on.
  • Repeatedly tap the DEL key
  • A screen should come up telling you to press the F1 key, do that.
  • Set the Optimized Default settings and Press OK (this is on the EXIT tab)
  • Save and exit the BIOS.
  • Tap the DEL key again to enter the BIOS and change any settings you want changed then save and exit again.

What do you mean by optimized settings?

Like put them back to default?

That looks a LOT better.
Hopefully that will fix your initial low fps issue.
And you could even try setting Performance Enhancer back to Level 3 (with PBO and XFR on Auto) if Level 2 doesn't fix your low FPS issue.

But do some testing at Level 2 first.

PS
I have to go for now, I'll check this thread later tonight and see how you make out.

At lvl 2 my EDC was on 16% out of 1000A

But now my fps was even lower, even as low as 17 fps, freeze lags. Average 70 fps.

Now i changed back to Lvl 3 OC and my edc is back at 98-99% of 145A.

I also noticed in advanced settings in powersettings that is a 3rd setting for processors.

It says something like ''Minimum number of cores for cores Parking for processor performance'' it is set at 100%, should it be at that?

But i guess we are back at square 1..

That sucks.
Please post a screen shot of that ''Minimum number of cores for cores Parking for processor performance'' setting to Imgur so we can see what you are talking about.

It sounds like you have unrealistic expectations.
The videos I see are showing 60 to around 80+ fps on BFV 1440p with a 2700x and RTX 2080.
Like this one:
View: https://youtu.be/qMvjr16LLfk

And this one shows 45 to 60+ fps:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7KlrstNcIo

Ok maybe i am, but my EDC still shouldt be at 99% while idle anyway?

I think im gona sell and Upgrade my MOB and processor.

Should i9 9900k do the trick?

I thought the ryzen 2700x would be better in performance.

First time i use AMD instead of Intel.

And this wasnt a good experience so far. I bought this PC to test Ryzen and to play ultra on games but i guess i need a more powerfull CPU.

I'd think just upgrading from the 2700x to a 3700x should get you the fps you are looking for:
View: https://youtu.be/scn8mY0rM24?t=350

The 3700x seems to perform as well as the9900k at 1440p in many games:
