I bought a PC without a hard drive on Ebay. I have a new Samsung SSD and new WD HDD. What is the most economical way to get Win 7 Pro?

I appreciate your help.

Phil

This is as cheap as it will get. You don't need the full version. You can get by on the system builder.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT buy it off of Ebay. I got burned by "saving" some money and getting it on Ebay. It was a pirated copy. It took 2 months for Microsoft to catch it, putting me out of the "Ebay Buyer Protection" and Ebay wouldn't help me. And Microsoft wouldn't help either. I just had to eat the cost of it.

So by going the OEM route I get no Microsoft support? Is that the only trade-off? Are there any other issues? Is it best to format the drive with this OEM software before I install?

Thanks again.

Phil

There is no other option when it comes to a system builder or full system license of Windows. They offer it ONLY as OEM. I've been down that same road. LOL

With OEM you get no Microsoft support and the license is permanently tied to the first motherboard upon which it is installed, and you cannot transfer it to a new computer. You may replace the motherboard with the same make/model, but not upgrade.
