Do I have to buy nvidia 3d glasses or can I use others?

So I just built a rig with a GTX560 Ti, and we have a Sony 3d compatible TV. Of course neither the TV or the GPU came with the glasses so I was just wondering if I could buy Sony 3d glasses (which are cheaper) or do I have to buy the Nvidia glasses to play 3d games on the TV?

Yes you can... Nvidia has a utility for any 3D set up. I just downloaded it and I am using it with my Visio HDMI TV and the polarized glasses that came with the TV. It is working great... was a little difficult setting up, because you have to have the TV in the 3D mode when it is setting up. But I figured it out. You can use it for 30days free... and does not require Nvidia's glasses or system, just Nvidia video card, a 3D ready display, and 3D content... $39.99 All it is is the drivers to run the 3D on systems not using the Nvidia glasses.

Alternatively, you can usually use HD3D software with Nvidia cards. Tridef 3D works.
