Do i have to change motherboard when changing graphics card?

I'm going to buy a new Graphic Card, do i have to change my motherboard? I want to change from XFX AMD Radeon 7800 Series to MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB. I have a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P, Socket-AM3+ motherboard currently.

No, you do not need to. You should uninstall the AMD gpu drivers before installing your GTX 980.

No, you would only need to change it if it was EXTREMELY old and there is no compatible slot for your new GPU. You'll be good bro.

I have new gpu msi aero itx gtx 1050 ti oc edition but why when i install it stuck on bios screen or logo screen?
And it make beep sound i have pcie x16 2.0 slot
please help
