Do i have to disable 7.1 surround in the headset when there is a headphone mode in the game?

You would have to check the manufacturer's website to see if there's any software for the headset. If so, an option to possibly enable/disable the 7.1 would be in that software.

In a way it is a sort of alternative to 7.1 - and no, you don't have to disable 7.1
