Do I have to increase core voltage?

Hi,

I'm overclocking my EVGA GTX 970 FTW. I have my core clock speed to +120 mhz, but if I go anything above that Unigine Heaven Benchmark DX11 glitches. Does this mean I have to increase the core voltage?

I know it's probably a stupid question, but I just want to make sure.

BTW I'm using MSI Afterburner

Thanks in advance :)

That would be the next step yes. GPUs don't overclock nearly as well as CPUs, but a small bump in core voltage can add some extra headroom. Be warned though, it will also add significant heat.

Does it matter if I don't have 2 in SLI (I only have one)?

its the same principles if you have 1 gpu.. increasing the power limit for a higher clock is basically for free but if you start messing with voltage then you start running the risk of reducing lifespan or damage
