Do I have to Overclock my GPU?

I just built my first pc, and I have a MSI Radeon RX480. I downloaded all the drivers off the site and came across the 'gaming app', 'msi afterburner', and 'wattman'.
Tinkering with all of them had my GPU fan going from 0-100% every few seconds while running overwatch - so I uninstalled them all.

Should I even bother overclocking it if im only running low load games like LoL or Overwatch? If so, what program should I use?

If not, is there a program I can download just to monitor it to see if it's working as it should? (If GPU-Z is not sufficient enough).

Sorry for the long question, any help would be awesome.

The only reason I use programs like afterburner is to set custom fan curves (GPU fans can be pretty noisy). The RX480 is a pretty reliable and good card, if it is not an overclock edition there really isn't much point. Like Justiceinacan said, it doesn't impact performance that much.
