- Corsair RM750 — 750 Watt 80 PLUS® Gold Certified Fully Modular PSU

------

since I have i7 - 5820k and my works are; graphic design + games I wanted to know

1- shall I have to upgrade to AMD for instance because it is like monsters now in processing !! all it will be wasting money!?

2- Or I have to upgrade only my processor without upgrading the series it self not to mention that the supported processors are

CPU Validated since PCB Validated since BIOS Note
Core i7-5820K (3.3GHz, L3:15M, 6C, HT, 140W, rev.R2) ALL 0503GO
Core i7-5930K (3.5GHz, L3:15M, 6C, HT, 140W, rev.R2) ALL 0503GO
Core i7-5960X (3.0G, L3:20M, 8C, HT, 140W, rev.R2) ALL 0503GO
Core i7-6800K (3.4GHz, L3:15M, 6C, HT, 140W, rev.R0) ALL 3101GO
Core i7-6850K (3.6GHz, L3:15M, 6C, HT, 140W, rev.R0) ALL 3101GO
Core i7-6900K (3.2GHz, L3:20M, 8C, HT, 140W, rev.R0) ALL 3101GO
Core i7-6950X (3.0GHz, L3:25M, 10C, HT, 140W, rev.R0)

what are the differences between i7 6850k vs 5820 k or // 6950 x vs 7800X

not to mention that the Bus Speed is 0 for all my supported processor but for the new Generations is 8 GT/s DMI3 !!! // what is the BUS SPEED ! ? and is it soo important that I take care of!?

do I have to upgrade my mother board!!! ( RAMPAGE V EXTREME (ASUS ) )

guys, I am so confusedly and I need to understand

I would appreciate if you give me your time to explain

have a nice day!

I'd stand pat until *you* feel your rig is inadequate/too slow in what you are doing, never upgrading simply because there is something faster out....(with good cooling, the 5820K was rumored to be a nice overclocker, capable of 4.2-4.4 GHz across 6 cores, which might reduce your rendering times by 15-20% or so....)

Unfortunately, the 6900K is still $950, a steep price for just two more cores, and downright silly in light of the 10-core 7900X costing $921...

https://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cpu_mainboard/intel_core_i7_5820k_review/2

As the 6950X is still stupidly priced at $1700, it should never be a logical contender for replacing anything, given the Threadripper and even 7900X alternatives (the 7800,7820,7900 and above and above require an X299 board)...

When you've determined you MUST replace CPU and MB, the Threadripper 16 core 1950X is $878, if your workload does that well with more cores, and, if /whenyou can't tolerate/wait your current encoding/decoding/rendering times....

Frankly update is not necessary but you know the human nature when I saw new processors and new platforms I had a jealousy to know what is new and whether the differences are large between them and 5820K! ?

As you see the best in the update is to update the whole platform and not only switch the current processor with the processor 6590 X or even the 5960X because prices are expensive and differences are simple

Conclusion Do you think when upgrading shal i update the whole platform, or just change the processor ! ? not to mention in the near future iam planning to have the ASUS ROG STRIX 1080 TI OC 11GB !!!!!!
