The number of threads and handles has nothing to do with what CPU you have but what you have open in the background. 2600+ threads and 110+k handles is par for the course to me on my i5-3470 since I always have 10-20 programs open.

Currently I have 3200+ Threads and 98900 handles, I mean I do have few start up programs and 6 tabs open at the moment, Dosn't slow my system down at all.
