Question Do I need a 27inch 1440p monitor, or a 1080p

Hey guys, I am currently upgrading my setup, and I was wondering if I need a 1440p monitor or a 1080p monitor, I will mainly use it for Games like Minecraft. I live in the UK and have a budget of around 300.
My system is running a 1060 6gb paired with an i5 6600k

Please list any recommendations below, cheers

Depends on technical specs of your system, which you didn't list, btw.

If it can handle 1440p, then go with 1440p screen.
If it's too weak for 1440p and can handle 1080p, then go with 1080p screen.

I have a 1080p 24" and playing PUBG and mostly FPS. I works absolutty fine but i am looking for a 27" 1440p. The question is do you think your gone whant more if your PC can take it? In that case it might be more expensiv going First 1080p just to go to 1440p in a year or so.

the 1060 is a good card for 1080p but I would not say its a good card for 1440p, however a lot depends how much you are willing to sacrifice game settings. I personally don't like 1080p on 27", its just not sharp especially on text and I find it annoying. However for gaming and video its not too bad.

Go with 1080p or 1200p screen.
GTX 1060 is 1080p class card. It can do 1440p at reduced graphics quality settings.

1080p on 27" screen is fine btw. This depends on your eyesight.

one more thing to think of is do you think you might upgrade your GPU in the near future and do you maybe gona play some games that you get more out of 1440p then mindecraft if you update?

A 1440p you can turn down to 1080p but a 1080p you can not turn up to 1440p.
Looking a head can save you a couple of dollars or pounds in total.
Trust me i am now already regretting "bottlenecking" my monitor for buying just what i needed yesterday and not for now or tomorrow, cost me a few pretty pennies
