Do I need a 6gb SATA cable for my blu ray player?

I just bought this blu ray player, LG Electronics 14x SATA Blu-ray:

My question is would it benefit me to connect it with a SATA 6gb cable? Or will there be no gains and using a normal SATA cable will work just fine?

All optical drives (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) operate at SATA 1 (1.5Gb/s) speeds, so you can use any speed SATA cable and it will operate the same.

Thanks, I accidently broke one of the 6gb sata cables that came with the mobo, I was going to use it for my blu ray player but before I went out and bought one just wanted to know if I had to get the 6gb. This makes it easier, thanks again!

The correct answer is there is no such thing as a SATA 3 6Gb/s cable. There is only one international cable standard. The cable is identical for all SATA versions. Advertising a SATA cable as a SATA 3 6Gb/s cable is an advertising gimmick.
