I'm about to install a PNY Quadro RTX 5000 into an MSI Tomahawk Z690 DDR 4 motherboard.

Do I need a bolster for this setup?

Thanks for any replies.

Solution
I'd say: No.

You have blower-style GPU, without heavy heatsink, as open air styles GPUs would have it, making them heavier and maybe needing GPU bolster. But since your blower-style GPU weighs less than open air styles GPUs, i don't think there's a need for GPU support.

Though, if there may be a small sag and that annoys your eye, then sure, for your own peace of mind, you can get GPU support.

Since I'm not going to be transporting this PC frequently (or ever, really), I think I'll just cut a piece of 3/4" wooden dowel to the exact length and use it as a bolster.
