Solution
yes, you need at least a cooler master hyper 212 evo. you could use the stock intel cooler, but you wont be able to overclock.

nice system, it deserves a good cooler. if you have the bucks to spare, get a noctua nh-d14.

Thanks for the reply and for the help!

might want to get at least a 212 EVO.
something considerably better: Scythe Mugen 4
then, there are coolers such as Noctua NH-U14S
then, the heavy weights such as Noctua D14, D15, Silver Arrow, Phanteks, etc.

then there are water coolers such as Kraken X61, Swiftech H240-X etc.

Which CPU Cooler do you guys recommend me buying?

Thanks for the help.

the phanteks 140mm wont fit in the 300r. i personally feel that the $65 noctua or phanteks is the limit since spending $100 on a 240mm aio water unit only afford you at best 0.2ghz higher overclock. its quite a bit of $$$ to justify a barely noticeable cpu frequency bump, and it wont do anything for gaming performance. i would stop at the 140mm noc/teks cpu cooler and spend the extra on a couple noctua 120mm case fans to pull cold air in to keep the gpu happy.

Thanks for the help!

I think ill go for the Scythe Mugen 4

Have a nice day.
