Im building a new pc, never built one before and im looking to do so on a budget. Do i need a CPU cooler? i see lots of people have one. Also, will i still need thermal paste even if i dont have one?

Solution
You ALWAYS need a cpu cooler.
Most processors will come with an adequate stock cooler.
It will have paste pre applied for installation.

High end processors designed to be overclocked like the Intel K processors will omit the stock cooler since the buyers will want to select their own high end cooler.

What is your budget?
What will be the main use for this PC?

The key to a good build is the selection of parts.
Assembly is simple.
^ yes you need one unless you want to kool your CPU with your hand which temp would be about 160 degrees lol thermal paste is like $1 and most CPU's come with a stock CPU cooler that's all you'll need
also as a side note the one thing everybody (including me) forgets about or is not taught about when building their first PC is the J-panel, F-Panel connectors that connect the case wires to the motherboard if these aren't connected properly your pc will not turn on

have fun building!
