DVD? Only if you wish to use DVD's. Many people don't. I have one in all of my systems. Just in case.

For actual drives, you have just the SSD?

If 500GB suffices, then that is all you need.

Boot order? Since you only have the one drive, it does not matter.
Just have to verify that your DVD or USB is in there somewhere, to boot from initially and install the OS.
