I'm building with open case and wondering if I'll need a fan?

Also, another question, will open case be dusty and dirty? is it safe to run a machine like this?

Solution
you want fan on the bottom of the case pull air across the gpu/cpu and one fan blowing across your hard drive. some cases if there no airflow of a hard drive it can get the drive above 50c. I have the sides off on my case..if you have cats/dogs that shead your pc wil end up having hair pets. it will dust up...easy fix is once a year to blow it out from an air compressor.

You'll need a CPU cooler at least. You might get away with just that if the ambient temperature of your room is low enough. I would still consider some general airflow over all of the components. That should help with the dust too!
