do i need a faster processor

i have a pentium d 3.0 with 2gb ram a radeon 5550 video card with 1gb, running windows 7. running flash video sights my cpu is running at almost 100%. the audio gets static and poping when the cpu gets over 95%. it only runs less than 50% on non flash sights like netflix. the computer is only used for streaming in my home theater. i have tried different browsers and different versions of flah whit same results. is it just the processor cant keep up. should i up grade to a newer faster pc for my home theater.

If you need a faster CPU then get a Core 2 Quad CPU or if you go upgrade to a newer PC, so what is your budget?.

If you're dissatisfied, which you seem to be, with your CPU's performance, then you have enough reason to upgrade.

If you have a monitor, keyboard, and OS then you can make a $400 rig that is great for home theater.
AMD makes APUs which are essentially good GPUs bundled with their CPUs.

The big hype today in the computer tech world is the quad core CPU. It is advertised with speed of 2.4 or 2.66GHZ. An old P4 chip can get 3.0GHz. Is there anything faster than 3.0GHZ? I found a dual core CPU with a E6850 that has a speed of 3.0GHZ. I do not want to overclock my CPU. What is the fastest factory CPU?

i just thought a 3.0 pentium d would be fast enough. i dont know why i twould take 100% of cpu for flash video when silerlight only uses less than 50%.
