Do I need a good motherboard? or is a h110 one fine?

I'm building a pc with a i5 6500 and a gtx 1060, I will likely be using an asus h110m motherboard, is that a good idea?

Yes, an H110 will be fine. If your CPU is locked, you don't need a Z-series motherboard.

That should be fine for that system. There wouldn't be much of an advantage going with say a Z170 board with a locked i5.

Yep, a simple motherboard will do just fine! Z-series is considered enthusiast-level with additional features a simple user would not need (like overclocking, but your CPU is locked anyway, so you don't need Z-series MOBO).

If budget is there, I'd prefer an H170 as H110 has no SATA support fro M.2 or PCI Express, less USB support. etc
