[SOLVED] Do I Need A Good Power Supply For My Graphics Card?

I bought an old prebuilt HP Compact 6300 SFF and I want to upgrade it. I want to put a graphics card in it but I'm not sure if my PSU will be able to power the graphics card. I have been planning to install a low profile Zotac GTX 1650 that doesn't need external power. I'm not sure what will happen when I boot my computer after installing the graphics card. My power supply is only 240 watts.

Oh.. noooo.... It's one of those proprietary, 12V Only with 12VSB HP PSU's With the funky fan that only has half blowing over the PSU!

Might as well just stick with what you got and see how it goes.

The only upgrade path from here is new motherboard, case and PSU.

The i7-3770 has 77W TDP and the GTX1050 has a 75W TDP so you should be fine.
I think you could even push to a GTX 1650 low profile like this one which I think is the biggest you can get without needing the PCIe power connector. It has the same 75W TDP.

I have an HP pro 6300 small form factor. that is about 5 months old. I would like to install a low profile GTX 1050. I am concerned that my power supply could possibly explode since it is only 240w.
