[SOLVED] Do I need a graphics card for a AMD Alton x4 880k CPU

Hi I have just built my first pc do i need a graphics card for my AMD Althon X4 880k CPU as I plugged it in to my Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-HD2 Motherboard hdmi port and no signal on tv but had a spare graphics card from old pc and plugged it in it worked then had picture then.

Yes, you will need a discrete graphics card as your processor does not include integrated graphics.
