Do I need a harddrive?

Hey on my current pc I have only used 250gigs in the past year I have had it. Is it possible I can get a 500gb ssd to use it as my harddrive and make the programs faster

Absolutely. In fact these days many laptops come as SSD only.

yes you could clone your existing hard drive to a 500gb ssd since you have less data than 500gb
