I’m in a dilemma and I don’t know what to do here. I’m thinking of upgrading pc and don’t know what parts I should get rid of/keep. I’m getting a 1070ti, mother board, thinking of getting a ryzen 5 2600X and new power supply. My current specs are:
CPU: i5 7500 (3.4Ghz)
GPU: 1050Ti
RAM: 16GB 3000Mhz ddr4
I have a 1080p monitor

I’m thinking of a whole new build but wondering if mainly my CPU could be re used or would I need to get the ryzen 5?

Solution
I would just put the 1070ti in your current build. It will bottleneck a little but not horribly. Wait for ryzen 3000 to come out in June/July and if you think you need more power down the road
Sadly I don’t have clearance in my motherboard to put on it so I’ll need to change that. Do you think I should get the 1070 (£300) or 1070ti (£400) from what I’m reading it’s a 17% increase in fps which doesn’t sound like a justification imo :/

Yeah I have a mATX motherboard and Im looking into getting an atx board aswell as larger tower to house it all.

I opted to go for the Founders Edition of the 2060 for £330 + anthem. Too good for the price tbh 😀

Definitely i would go for the 1070ti over 2060.. mainly because there should be more power in that 1070ti as it comes with higher amount of CUDA cores and higher base clocks. If you really wish to go with RTX then go for 2080 at least so it will be bit expensive.

And for the CPU i think you should be patient and wait couple of months until AMD announce the next Ryzen wave.

The 1070ti and 2060 trade blows on pre launch day drivers. The 2060 will improve slightly over time the 1070ti won't much if any. Today the 2060 wins more than it loses to the 1070ti. There's definitely no reason to expect it to go the other direction.

Yes i admire that 2060 better for the future as there will be a lot RTX support games. But it's budget... who want's to lay money on such GPU for play RTX games? or else put another extra to it and go for a much better one. probably 2080/Ti.

For at this point when considering performance per dollar 1070Ti wins isn't it?
