[SOLVED] Do i need a new mobo?

I have a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P.
I also hav an FX6300 and GTX 960, of which i want to upgrade.

I am getting a new CPU first.
DO i need new motherboard as i cant afford one on top of a new CPU.

If you are going for a new Ryzen or Intel processor you will need a new motherboard as well. You will also need to get RAM as well. All new boards use DDR4. Your current PC will be DDR3.

Woul di just be able to get a ddr3 compatibale motherboard and thewn get a ryzen 5 2600 and gtx 980ti?

Nope you will need ddr4 with ryzen. The only option is only skylake and maybe kaby lake through a bios update support ddr3l, mind you the L. Has to be low voltage <=1.35V.

ok cause i can find a second hand 980ti for cheaper than a new rx580 so im thinking of getting that cause i play 2560x1080 and enjoy ultra on games.
