[SOLVED] Do i need a new mother board if i want to upgrade my cpu?

Hi my cpu recently broke and im looking to buy a new one my pc is :microtron T2x only thing i upgraded is my graphics card which is now Radeon RX 560. and i dont know if need a new motherboard for a better cpu. i would love some of you gys to help me thx

Im pretty sure that microtron T2x is a case...
If you could list the full system specs,including the PSU,that would be awesome.

pretty much anything better but i really dont wanna change the mother board

The X4-860K is not on the list; perhaps that is why it failed.

Regardless, you have such an old platform that spending more is not very effective.

well you are going to have to change the motherboard,since you already have the best cpu for that motherboard.

or you have other option which is to go with old i7 (something like 3770k or 4770k) and overclock it.They will perform better than then the 1st pcpartpicker list (the one with ryzen 3 1200),and possibly better than the second list (the one with 1600AF).
For that you will need a good motherboard,also note that you will need to buy these parts used since they are not manufactured anymore.Used parts are pretty cheap and if they dont have any visible flaws,they are 'ussually' good.Of course you can buy these old components unused from amazon which will cost you about 10x more.

The prices for the 3770k build are far from real.In my country i can find all these parts for around 250$-300$ or less.
Unfortunately the list for 4770k cant be made on pcpartpicker since there are no good parts listed there.

I agree,also i dont know how didnt see the N/A=not support high lighted in red,but im wondering how does he run the cpu on that mobo if its not supported???

My guess is that some processors draw more power than the motherboard can deliver.

yes you will need to buy memory since the platform is based on ddr4 memory.
Your current system uses ddr3 memory.

I know its tricky to spot,but when you look a little bit beneath the 'CPU Support' you will see N/A = Not support

I guess there are two sections for support, FM2 and FM2+
I was looking at the FM2 section.
Processors rarely "break"
More often, it is a pin that gets bent.
How did this processor "break"?
