Question Do I need a new motherboard?

I am doing some upgrading to my pc and am wondering if I will need a new motherboard for the i9-9900k and if so what would you recommend. Currently I have the i7-6700k on the Asrock Fatality Z170 gaming k6 mobo. Eventually I’d like to get some of the rgb trident ram which is 3600MHz so if it could also support that. Another thing to consider is that I have the phantom 630 full tower case so hopefully it could fit in that. And if it matters I will be getting the 2080ti.Thanks for your help!

a Z390 chipset motherboard is what you need.

Not only do you need a Z390 you want a high end motherboard with strong VRM design. The 9900k needs good power delivery.

What would you recommend? I was thinking of the ROG Maximus XI Hero.
