Hey! Right now im using a Chieftec Super Series 650W PSU from 2011, and it is currently running my z97p + i5 4690k and a GTX 680. Im thinking about upgrading to a GTX 1060, and I wonder, should I upgrade my PSU? And if so, to which PSU should I upgrade? I have noticed that in some games with my GTX 680, the videocard drivers ''crashes'' and the game freezes. When I play games like The Witcher 3, the videocard drivers often crash, and I dont know if it depends on my GPU or PSU.

Thanks in advance.

From nVidia web site

Thermal and Power Specs:
94 = Maximum GPU Temperature (in C)
120 W = Graphics Card Power (W)
400 W = Recommended System Power (W)4
6-Pin = Supplementary Power Connectors

The 680 wanted a 550 watt minimum PS. Driver crashes (message would help) or more often related to Windows issues such as timeout errors

I would check the existing PSU under stress for any signs of abnormality or voltage instabilities by running a stressful program like OCCT while monitoring voltages to see if its misbehaving. The ATX spec requires voltages to remain between 11.4 and 12.6 on the 12v rail. .... tho I prefer to see half that. If it ain't broke, noneed to fix it.
