Do I need additional extra cooling ??

Hi,

I am planning to build below configuration gaming PC,

1) CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0 GHz
2) Graphics - GeForce GTS 250 - 512 MB
3) Motherboard - Asus M3A78
4) 2x2 DDR2 RAM
5) 450W PSU

Out of which CPU, Graphics card and PSU will come with their default fan.

I will be running CPU with factory default, without overclocking.

My room temperature would be 30 degree celsius.

My question is, do I need additional fan cooling or other cooling setup ??

My usage will be mostly gaming and normal video/photo editing.

The phenom II's seem fine with the stock cooler, just make sure the Asus MB isn't overvolting it.

I would think you'd be fine with sto0ck cooling even in 30 degree ambient temps.
I doubt your CPU/GPU will be 99%+ stressed for extended periods of time.

I know while gaming and stress testing my GPU can go 20 degrees or more higher, and only then is it a problem.

I will be using this box for mostly gaming like FSX, FIFA 09, Sim 3 etc and playing with few of the linux distros.

I am not going to purchase additional cooling as suggested.

Do not overlook your case.

If your computer case has pretty good airflow through it, you should be fine. Monitor your temperatures and then, if you need it, upgrade your cooling.
