[SOLVED] Do I need an HDMI splitter?

hey guys, I am helping my friend build his gaming setup. he is going to have a PC and a PS4, but only one monitor. What do i need to buy to allow switching between PC and ps4 displays on a single monitor? thanks

Monitor usually have more than 1 input. They could use hdmi on the ps5 and dvi, displayport on the pc depe ding on the video card and monitor.

Otherwise you'd need a hdmi switch, not a splitter.

okay, thanks. is there a difference in quality or performance between hdmi and dvi/vga/display port?

Hdmi and displayport, no difference. Dvi-d is also digital, so theyrenall digital format, just bits and bytes, no difference. Vga can't do hi def, fast refresh, etc, so stay away from that. Lol.
