Do I need Full tower Case?

Hey guys, first time building a gaming PC, and I'm relatively new at this. I have no idea what to look for when buying a case, and I was wondering if I needed a full tower case to fit all my components. My build (hopefully):

MOBO: Asus Maximus Hero VII (already owned)
Graphics Card: GTX 970 (not sure what maker yet)
cooler: hyper 212 evo
PSU: seasonic x850 (already owned)
Processor: i7 4790k
RAM: 16gb ballistix sports low profile
3tb 3.5" HDD

Any other recommendations would also be greatly appreciated, but I mainly want to know what kind of case I need to get. Feel free to recommend a good case if you want to, as well as any tips as far as what to look for in a good case.

Mid tower would be fine. You aren't even doing sli or liquid cooling

Howdy,

A full tower case is a good idea.. it allows for extra room to move.. maybe not now but in the future... down the track you may want to look at watercooling and want to put a RAD/RES/PUMP inside. There are many good cases on the market it comes down to the budget you set aside....

I've heard good words on the Corsair cases, also CoolerMaster. CaseLabs are also a primo brand along with Silverstone... Depending on your location some / all may be available.

Remember to look for a case that offers good air flow with options to add additional intake / exhaust fan options.

You won't go wrong with an Asus Motherboard. As far a GPU, I'd suggest looking at EVGA they have some of the best support around and their products are good quality.

Thanks guys, I'm new to all this so it's been tough for me to sort out what I should be looking for. Basically mid tower will fit it, full tower would be more future proof, in case I wanna go SLI and water cooling, and overall pimp out my rig a bit more somewhere down the line, right?

Yeah, a full tower would be a good idea. I bought a Haf 922 a while back and even though it is one of the bigger mid-tower cases, it quickly became too small, plus there were many problems with that case.

I would look at something like a 750D. If you can, spend your money on a good quality case that will last you. If you go budget, you'll probably wish you didn't sooner or later.
