Do I need G-Sync with GTX 980 SLI

Hi,

I currently have a ASUS 28 inch 4k monitor. I'm looking at getting a second monitor that will better at gaming. Is it worth paying more for a G-Sync monitor if I already have 2x GTX 980s in SLI? I'm looking at the ASUS 27 inch PG278Q. Thanks!

U already have a good monitor so buying a new one just for G-sync is not worth it and this G-sync monitor is 1440p not 4k.

You don't need G-sync, its good to have but its a waste buying a monitor just for G-sync.

Thanks for the replies. I am looking at getting a second monitor with or without G-Sync. I am looking at getting a second Asus 4k 60hz or the Asus 27 at 144hz. Is the 144hz worth giving up resolution? Thanks.

It all depends on you. I would take 1080p 144Hz over 4k 60Hz any day.
I have two monitors, as you can see in my signature. Both 1080p 24 inch with my secondary being 60Hz and my primary 144Hz.
