Do I need gsync on my gaming laptop

Looking at xoticpc and sager models primarily as Sager is great. But should I limit to gsync only? Probably a 2070 super or better with 17” 144 hz.
 
g.sync and such is good to even out the disconnect between frame generation rate of the gpu/processor and the frame presentation rate of the display.
It is a good thing I think.

I see many posts about problems with gaming laptops.
They primarily relate t overheating and throttling.
For the unit you are looking at, try to assess the cooling capability.
Laptop coolers need to be small and light, not so good for cooling capability
