[SOLVED] do i need more ram on my gaming laptop?

im using a Lenovo legion y520 gaming laptop currently running 16gb of ddr4 2400mhz ram. I do a lot of gaming and was wondering should I invest 180 dollars in upgrading the ram to 32gb? or leave it at 16gb? also how much longer will 16gb be the sweet spot?

For gaming only - 16GB is plenty (usually 12GB is enough).
If you were also doing video/photo editing, then additional ram could be beneficial. But for pure gaming - no ram upgrade necessary.

im asking cause, I noticed while playing black ops 4, I noticed the ram usage was getting as high as 12gb. seems kinda high.

Some games "allocate" RAM to be used. So for instance COD might reserve 12gb of RAM for usage but not actually be using all of that.
