You will NOT need a sound card. Your on-board sound card will work perfectly fine. You will need better headphones not a better sound card 😉

i've personally never heard a realtek chip that sounded "good" by any measure.
@ OP, As mbilal2 said, you don't
need a sound card. However if you are an audiophile you will want to invest in something. A low end Creative card or Asus Xonar card is leaps and bounds better in sound quality. If you don't know any better, it will be fine. It is one of those things that once you experience it, everything else sounds flat and muddy and dull. Would hate to see a $300 headset go to waste over a $2 realtek chip.
