Do I need the MSI drivers and utilities disk?

I just built a PC WITHOUT a disk drive. I'm praying to God I don't need the disk? I didn't know it came with a disk. And if I do need it, what for?

No, it would be best to download the drivers (and any utilities you'd want) directly from the MSI site anyway.

If you mean the motherboard CD, it contains drivers and utilities.

You can download all of them from their website, which I always do anyway because those on the CD will be old versions.

If you need network drivers to get online, download them on another PC, copy to a pen drive, then transfer to the PC which needs them.

I guess you are talking about MSI motherboard drivers..well good news is you don't need disk drive and you can download drivers and utilities from www.msi.com or just google as "MSI motherboard driver" open the support link choose the right product (motherboard) you'll get download link..download and install it..and say thanks to god

No. You can get in to the BIOS/UEFI Setup without installing anything.

Yes it is necessary for Graphics, Audio, Network (Internet) of your PC

Devices won't work properly (audio, graphics etc) without the proper drivers, indeed some may not work at all.

Windows will install some of them from its own driver library, but not all. Depends on the Windows version, Win10 for example has many more drivers than earlier versions, plus it usually delivers missing drivers via Windows Update.

Anyway, it's no big deal installing drivers, most people know how to do that but one of the commonest mistakes is going to the wrong source.

Check Device Manager when Windows is up & running to see which devices have a question-mark next to them.
They need drivers.

If you can't follow that, just download all the drivers for your mobo model on MSI's website, install "Chipset Driver" first.
Install them all then you know you've got all the ones you need.
