[SOLVED] Do I need to buy a new power supply?

My PC : Intel i5-3470
10 GB DDR3 RAM
gt 710 2GB DDR5
WD 500 GB HARD DISK


I am planning to upgrade my GPU to RX 570 4gb . So do i need to buy a new power supply ?

The label says it can apparently provide 19 amps on the 12 volt rail so a total of 22 watts. Kind of cutting it close although a decent 450W unit might be fine.

Howeverkeep in mind that your PSU model JIL-2414i by Frontech is a generic PSU and is of poor quality. I would recommend you replace it with a proper well-built 450W or 500W unit.

The RX570 is a power hungry card and you really should not risk it on a poor quality psu. You can buy an inexpensive Corsair CX 80+bronze 550w psu if you want something cheap.

Obviously YES....Don't use that PSU. It's a local branded low-end generic PSU. You need to buy a HIGH quality and a reputed PSU brand and model.

What's your budget, and where do you live ? There are quite a few HIGH quality decent PSUs which I can recommend. Check the following links, and see whether you can grab one of these similar models.

Yes, as everyone said, you'll need a new PSU. Mine was also a Generic PSU until it failed midgame ( not enough power i think) and i had to replace it.

Seasonic S12II is also a good one according to Metal Messiah. at better price than Focus if you don't have enough money

The S12 platform is older but still pretty good. It will work fine.

YES. That's a decent PSU. It is based on an older platform, but the quality of this unit is far better than your current PSU, which is Frontech.

They may have been talking about the older versions of that PSU, the newer gray label versions are better quality and 550W is plenty for the build.

I have a CX550m(2015) and it hasnt given me any trouble. Most other PSUs at that budget are low quality, but this one isnt.

The CX550 offers decent efficiency, 550w, pretty quiet operation, and is all around a great cpu for the money
