I plan to build a brand new system for calculating big Excel data which have more than 100,000 rows so far and it gets bigger and bigger every month.

My budget is around $1,300 (up to $1,500). After reviewing several articles through Google, the more cores and threads would give better performance to Excel. Thus, I decide to buy the Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, but the mainboard is still unclear.

Do I really need to buy the X570 board?

Or are X470 / B450 enough for me?

Can you help me out?

Solution
What if I change the CPU to 3700X and get an used graphic card GTX 1060 3GB. Since I am not going to play games seriously, it would save my pocket.
Honestly, all the above builds are way overkill for your workload, even if you have the budget. A simple build will perform equally well and save you tons of $$$...

I have B350 Mobo and I was also asking that question to myself and i decided to go with x570 cuz msi is giving a Cooler Master liquid cooler as a gift with x570 mobo and that makes x570 cheaper than x470. I think only noticable difference between x470 and x570 is PCI-e 4.0.

i would go with the X570 and also get yourself a good PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive. you should never have to flash your bios on a new build.

I don't know what you can find a 1060 3GB for, but you can get new RX 570s pretty cheap.

Edit: Here's an example of a more budget oriented build that should still perform virtually the same except for applications that can take advantage of >8 cores.

The motherboard would likely need to have its BIOS updated, which can be done without a supported CPU via the BIOS flashback feature.
