Do I need to change my wireless network adapter?

Okay so here's the thing. I have been using my old ancient 6mpbs internet for some time now. And this is my wireless network adapter model, DW1525 (802.11n) WLAN PCIe Card. And I've been getting decent download speeds on my torrents and direct downloads. like 600-800kb/s .

Now I'll be switching over to optic fibre 500mbps with a modem thats given by the provider itself. SO my question is, is my current network adapter decent enough for my new internet connection or should i change it? Or does the adapter even affect the speed? Like is there a limit capped as to how much download speed it can take on my network adapter? If yes, then what should i change it to. Cause, well
obviously i would like to take full advantage of my 500mpbs.

I know using an Ethernet cable would give me the best possible speed but I would like to know my options for wireless connections.

It's an older card, so likely only capable of 150Mbps max. Compare that to your new ISP speeds, and there's quite a difference.

What is the connection speed now with your current router? You can find that out by looking at the properties of your adapter while you are connected. This is just the connection speed between the router and your adapter, not the internet speed.

So, yes, you should upgrade if you want/need the faster speeds. How much you actually get depends on the connection with your router.
