Do i need to change the PSU CPU power plug for Quad core?

I'm a custom computer beginner.
Currently running a Dual core AMD processor, i want to upgrade to a Quad core.
I've got a Biostar N68S3+ motherboard (not the best)
I got told that If i want quad core i need to change the PSU CPU 4 plug/slot to a 8 or get a new PSU.
My Motherboard is compatible with Quad core.

Do i need to change the PSU CPU power plug for Quad core?

No, as long as your chipset / bios and socket are compatable with the new chip, you will not need to change the PSU plug.
