Do I need to change the thermal pads on my gpu

Hello! I got 1 gpu from friend of mine but he told me to repaste it and see if it works. This is the first gpu with thermal pads i have and i don`t know if they are bad or not.

I do not think you need to change them unless you opened GPU And the Pads Got Ripped Off But here is some some information from google about what they do
