do i need to change/ update my bios with my new motherboard

hello, I am thinking of getting a new motherboard as well as a new cpu. I have everything sorted out weather my gpu with work etc. but I don't know how to check if I need to update my bios once I get my new motherboard.

my motherboard is the msi-7778 jasmine HP
im thinking of getting the asus m5a97 le r2.0 am3+

if you an help i will be very grateful.

Generally yes. However some people "breadboard" their new motherboard --meaning that they mount it on standoffs on some plywood with all of the other components and power supply nearby. The advantage of this is just easier, faster, less dangerous all-around access. Iat helps if you have a lot of questionable components. Once everything appears to be working they of course move everything into the case.
Just go to their website now and download the latest BIOS, note the version. When you boot your new system absolutely every BIOS I've ever seen will tell you the version of the BIOS somewhere on the screen. If it's different from the latest, upgrade it. That simple. It's nice to have an up-to-date BIOS, but often, it is not critical.
