Do I need to configure any BIOS settings to work my components?

Hi forum,

I'm curious as to whether I need to configure any BIOS settings in order to get my new build 100% working and stable.

I purchased and built this rig last week:
Motherboard:GA-Z87X-D3H
CPU: i5 4670k
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX760 2GB Windforce
PSU: Corsair 600m
Network Card: Asus PCE-N15
HDD: WD1002FAEX 1TB
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium OEM

I've recently started receiving daily and regularly occuring BSOD's - popular ones being Bad Pool Header and Memory Management.

I'm curious as to whether I need to configure anything in the BIOS to ensure all the components are working properly with the BIOS or whether it's just hardware/software (windows 7 files) based?

Any help would be strongly appreciated, thanks.

You need to use some intelligent input in the BIOS for the memory to run at the memory manufacturers recommended DRAM timings, memory clock, and DRAM voltage. The motherboard has support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules which automatically inputs the correct settings. Of course, you need to turn on this feature in the BIOS for it to work. Reasons for XMP settings not working correctly are combining multiple memory kits or using memory without XMP profiles.

motherboard manual (page 40)
Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) (Note 2)
Allows the BIOS to read the SPD data on XMP memory module(s) to enhance memory performance when
enabled.
Disabled Disables this function. (Default)
Profile1 Uses Profile 1 settings.
Profile2 (Note 2) Uses Profile 2 settings

Note 2) This item is present only when you install a CPU and a memory module that support this feature
