Do I need to defrag my secondary HDD? I remember turning off the settings to optimise my SSD in July

Title pretty much explains my question here. Anyway I installed a Samsung 840 Evo 250 GB SSD to use as a primary drive, back in July of this year. I went through a guide to optimise everything and one or two settings were changed in order to stop routine defragmentation of hard drives, for obvious reasons including to avoid damage to the SSD. How then do I look after my secondary HDD as I noticed it is getting a bit slower than in the past when it was a really good performer.

You can defrag your HDD but not SSD. If you have Window 8.1, it will know not to defrag your SSD.

Thanks. So like I said, is there a way for me to see what the current settings are for defrag for secondary HDD and when the last defrag was? Do I need to do anything else to look after my HDD?

There not much maintenance with HDD if your OS is installed on the HDD. To be fair, you don't really need to defrag a HDD that often.
