[SOLVED] Do i need to do something before completely swapping my ram with another

Do i need to a OS reinstall or a ram clean with a program or soemthing or do something to my motherboard before swapping my ram with a complkete new one

If you enabled an XMP profile or have an overclock, go back and reset to default. Turn on make sure it's working correctly, power down, do the swap. Come back before enabling any overclock and make sure it's working. Then go back to BIOS and enable OC/XMP.

Seems to work well for me every time.

nah i dont got any xmp or overclock so im assuming i just gotta power down and put it

Unplug the system and drain any remaining power from it or you can damage the memory, motherboard, or both.

I always reset CMOS/BIOS to factory defaults prior to installing new RAM. Makes it easier for BIOS to recognize changes.
