Do i need to download motherboard installation CD

I recently just setup my new PC. It has a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard. It came with an installation CD. My case does not have an optical drive. Do I need to download what is on the CD or can I go without it? If I do, how would I go about doing it?

Download the motherboard drivers through the manufacturers website onto a USB and use the USB as the catalyst to move drivers and utilities.

You need the drivers from that CD in order for certain components to work. You can go to the gigabyte website and download onto a usb stick to install
