First of all I have to say that from the sound of things your very inexperienced with computers. Flashing your BIOS is risky and can result in an unusable motherboard.

Asus does have a feature on their boards called Crash Free BIOS but you need to read about it and understand how to use it before flashing your BIOS. You should also know how to flash from a floppy and I'm sure your board has an option to flash from a USB flash drive (the method I use) but absolutely do not use to flash tool that Asus has which allows you to flash from inside Windows.

Unlike driver updates where it's always a good idea to use the most recent version, flashing should really only be done if there is a specific problem that the new BIOS is designed to fix.

I've just seen a lot of people getting bad flashes while trying to do it through Windows. Windows isn't always the most stable operating environment and I just always feel safer doing it through the BIOS.

I have the Asus Rampage Formula X48 board and this is what my BIOS looks like

The BIOS in the video you linked is from a Gigabyte motherboard which is likely why you see a difference between what you have and the video.

From what I have read about that board there are certain overclocking features that Asus hasn't activated yet. Updating your BIOS might give you some added features but I looked through the available BIOS's for your board and really didn't see anything that would help in your situation. Your best bet would be to go to the message boards on the Asus site and look for the threads from others that have the same board as you.

It's not that ASUS does not have the options in the BIOS, you need to manually set the overclocking utilities to "manual" before the BIOS will allow you to tamper with it. Updating the BIOS is not necessary (and I wouldn't recommend it either unless something else goes horribly wrong)

I have a Rampage Formula as well (the BIOS should be similar to the II Extreme), and the options the OP should be looking for is the "AI Overclock Tuner" and set it from Auto to Manual. Then, the options for FSB Frequency will appear and you can set your base cpu clock (along with the "CPU Ratio" settings - I'm assuming you're familiar enough with how ratio x FSB works to get your overclock since you planned on doing it in the first place).

I have a Gigabyte X48 board as well and the BIOS is a completely different setup, the FSB setting is labeled as the "CPU Host Clock Control" and "CPU Host Frequency."

The problem is that the OP is using a LGA 1366 i7 motherboard and the FSB doesn't exist anymore. I will be the first to admit that I don't have any experience playing around in the BIOS of one of the new boards to know exactly how to adjust it.

Yikes, I misread the OP's post and your screenshot of the X48 BIOS totally threw me off. Yeah my post totally didn't help anything at all....
