So i installed another router as a repeater to widen the wifi range in our house. All is working well.
Only problem is, i have phone apps that no longer connect to my pc anymore (as i upgraded to a new router for the repeater)
for example an android remote mouse and android data transfer.
After installing the new router (as repeater) which is an Asus DSL-AC3100, my solution was to disable the firewall on the repeater and now the apps work again after trying to find a way to allow the app in the firewall. So my question is
Do i need to setup a portforwarding or whitelist the apps somehow in the router in order to enable the firewall?
or does the firewall even need to be active at all since it is already connected to the main router via ethernet which
i assume should provide all the security needs and the second router is simply acting to widen the range of the network which
is all i need it to do.

Setup is as follows:
I have fiber.
Modem
Router1 – Firewall enable
Router2 (repeater) – Firewall disabled connected via ethernet cable
Devices

Im thinking i should be fine with disabling firewall on the second router
Or is there another solution?
