Do I need to install Win7 twice? (Win7 HP --> Win7 Pro)

I'm replacing the HD on my system and have a couple of questions.

1) My installation DVD is Win7 Home Premium and I later purchased an anytime upgrade to Win7 Pro. Do I have to reinstall Home Premium and then install Professional after the "upgrade?"

2) Is it necessary to format my new hard drive or can I just begin the installation after creating the partition? I'm assuming it's default NTFS?

Thanks,
Gerry

with the new drive dont do anything windows will partion and format the drive for you. if the windows upgrade disk will boot then boot from it it will come back wiht a message cant find product to upgrade. remove the upgrade dvd and put in the older installer disk and point windows upgrade installer to the disk. it read a few files then it say it good to go. putthe upgrade disk back in and let it go. if the upgrade disk wont boot...use windows 7 slipstream and make a new bootable iso with the upgrade already installed.
