I've taken the liberty of editing the title. If you did in fact spill some kind of batter on your motherboard, you will likely need to replace it (careful and thorough cleaning may be possible), in which case you will most likely need to re-install Windows.
If you changed the battery, you will not. After a battery change, you will want to reset your CMOS to defaults, then re-apply any manual changes you've made.
