Hello!

I foolishly made the mistake of purchasing the incorrect motherboard for my Ryzen 5 3600, which I installed with its stock cooler on this motherboard, using the pre-applied thermal paste on said cooler.
Now, I want to purchase a new motherboard, but I am wondering if I will also need to buy new thermal paste as well, for when I move the CPU and cooler to the new motherboard. Do I?

Thank you!

Absolutely. the paste will make sure you are having a clear contact between the cpu and cooler block. Clean the old paste with towel paper and isopropyl alcohol or clean alcohol, the apply new paste. You only need a small portion of paste. Too much and it hinders the heat transfer.

Yes!
And its good to use medicine gasoline for cleaning old paste.Alcohol also is not bad idea.
And put paste size of rice. Not too much. And everything will work just fine :)
And look for better quality of paste
