do i need to reinstall everything after changing motherboard?

I currently have an amd fx8350, gigabyte ga-970a ds3p and 8GB ddr3 ram. And i ordered an intel i5 6600k, gigabyte z170 gaming k and 16GB ddr4 ram.
So do i have to reinstall windows and all my games when i change?

Your old drivers will conflict with the new drivers and hardware.

That was true on Windows 7 and previous versions. On Windows 8 and Windows 10 all you have to do is reactivate Windows and uninstall the previous drivers.

Yeah I agree with this. I've seen it both ways as well. Although don't get me started on Windows 10 build 1607 (current version). :lol:

Yes, you can try.

Make sure you have a backup.

As you should always, backup your data.

Install the motherboard and move over your old drive.

Hopefully all will go well.
